Lane closure scheduled for work at former Holmes Foundry Site

Demolition work at the former Holmes Foundry site will impact traffic flow on Christina Street on Friday.

The Village of Point Edward said southbound traffic on Christina Street will be reduced to a single lane from the Highway 402 overpass to Exmouth Street, starting at 7 a.m.

The closure is to accommodate for the safe demolition of a portion of the buildings on the former Holmes Foundry site near Christina Street.

The demotion work should be done before the end of the day.

During the partial road closure, the eastern southbound lane and both northbound lanes will remain open.

Plans to clear the 16-acre site were announced at the end of July.
