77.2 per cent of eligible Lambton residents fully vaccinated

Seven new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Lambton County in the past 24 hours.

In its daily update, Lambton Public Health said the caseload since the start of the pandemic climbed to 3,940, up seven from Tuesday.

There were 10 more cases deemed resolved, up to 3,783, lowering the active case count by three to 87.

Bluewater Health has four COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one from Tuesday.

There are three active outbreaks, down one from Tuesday. Three cases are linked to an unidentified workplace, under five cases are reported at the Generations Day Care Queen Elizabeth Site and five cases are reported at Bkejwanong Kinomaagewgamig Elementary School. An outbreak at the Walpole Island Daycare Centre has ended.

As of October 6, Lambton Public Health said 82 per cent of the eligible population has received one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 77.2 per cent are considered fully vaccinated.

A total of 185,249 doses of vaccine have been administered to Lambton County residents, 94,799 first doses, 89,232 second doses and 1,218 third doses.
