Hospital ER not a COVID-19 testing site

The hospital emergency department is not a COVID-19 testing centre.

That's a reminder from Bluewater Health, which has seen a spike in visits to its emergency department by residents requesting a swab.

In a tweet, the hospital said the Emergency Departments are not conducting swabbing for COVID-19 testing, and residents should book an appointment at a local assessment centre.

Lambton Public Health offices and immunization clinics will be closed on Monday, October 11 to observe the Thanksgiving holiday. Although contract tracing will continue Monday, the daily surveillance report will not be updated on the health unit's website.

From September 26 to October 2, Lambton Public Health conducted 2,276 tests for the virus, 3.7 per cent were positive.
