Local United Way campaign reaches 30 per cent of goal

The Sarnia Lambton United Way campaign has hit 30 percent of its goal after just four weeks. They've brought in $540 thousand of the $1.75 million goal.

Executive Director Dave Brown said he's happy with the pace so far.

"On Friday I was looking at the results of the campaign this time last year and we're right within a few thousand dollars of last year's pace," said Brown. "So, we're really happy with the progress so far. We have over 1,100 donors that have already contributed to this year's campaign."

Brown said that there is only a few days left to get in on the 50/50 draw.

"The draw for the October 50/50 takes place on Friday," he said. "Listeners can purchase tickets by going to www.united5050.ca."

As of Tuesday, the pot was at over $1,100.

The United Way helps fund 20 local agencies providing 40 programs and services.
