Police stop suspicious cyclist, seize stolen property

Lambton OPP officers with a keen eye are being credited with nabbing a break and enter suspect in St. Clair Township.

At around 11:40 p.m. October 4, police noticed a suspicious person riding a bicycle on St. Clair Parkway. They were allegedly carrying multiple items which caught the attention of police.

Further investigation revealed the items were reported stolen during a break and enter nearby. Police took the suspect into custody without incident, and seized around $1,000 in stolen property.

A 41-year-old from Walpole Island First Nation has been charged with break and enter to a place to commit an indictable offence and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The suspect was released and is set to appear in court at a later date.
