Call police during emergencies: OPP

Lambton OPP are reminding residents to reach out to police during events requiring police action, rather than phoning municipal offices, council members or Police Service Board members.

The reminder comes after complaints from the public have been received by members of the local Police Services Boards, but OPP are never contacted.

The OPP said its officers work around-the-clock to ensure the safety of the residents and visitors to Lambton County, by attending calls for service including emergencies, suspicious activities, enforcement action and much more. However, they need members of the public to contact them if and when things are happening.

The OPP Communication Centre can be reached 24 hours a day at 1-888-310-1122 for non-emergencies and at 9-1-1 during emergencies.
