Original Albert's food drive weighs in sizeable donation

A food drive in Point Edward has stacked up a fair amount of non-perishable food items for The Inn of the Good Shepherd.

Original Albert’s hosted its 12th annual food drive on November 6 to support the local organization.

The food drive resulted in a donation of 2,194 pounds of non-perishable food items and a monetary donation of $1,500.

Original Albert’s Part-Owner John Sinclair said $1,315 was also raised during the food drive and that money will be used to buy gifts for the Inn's Adopt a Family program.

The Inn's Manager of Human Resources and Community Relations, Katherine Schultiess, said there was a great turnout at the food drive and the amount donated was "amazing".

Sinclair had previously said 2,644 pounds of food was donated in 2020 along with $4,750 for the Inn's Adopt a Family program.
