Sting beat the Spirit 6-1 in Saginaw

Following a 7-3 home ice loss to the visiting Windsor Spitfires on Friday the Sarnia Sting rebounded with a solid 6-1 win in Saginaw Saturday night.

Nolan Burke (9) opened the scoring for Sarnia at the 4:28 mark of the first period assisted by Ty Voit.

Max Nemistikov (2) made it 2-0 85 seconds later with an unassisted goal.

At the 10:55 mark Nolan Dann (7) tallied for the Sting with Burke picking up the assist.

Sarnia kept rolling when Nolan DeGurse (1) scored at the 9:54 mark of the second period from Justin O'Donnell and Ryan Pryce.

Theo Hill (4) added another at the 11:01 mark with assists going to Voit and Cameron Supryka.

Burke would score again in the third from Voit and Dann followed by the Spirit's lone goal on the power play at 6:36.

Benjamin Goudreau made 16 saves for the win while Andrew Oke stopped eight.

Sarnia's record improves to 4-6-2 on the season while Saginaw's record drops to 6-4-1.

The Sting are idle until Tuesday when they host London at 7:05 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
