Harper signs agreement with Sarnia Sting

The Sarnia Sting have signed Wyoming native Austin Harper to an Ontario Hockey League standard player agreement.

Harper was selected by the Sting in the 10th round of the 2020 OHL Priority Selection.

Sting General Manager Dylan Seca is pleased.

"Austin is a player who had a great training camp," said Seca. "He’s gone down to the Jr B Legionnaires and has been excellent. We like his compete level both on the ice and in the gym. He’s a committed kid and will always give you his best effort. He will remain with the Legionnaires, however we expect to see him in a Sting jersey soon."

In 17 games with the Sarnia Legionnaires this year, Harper has six goals and 13 assists.

He put up 16 goals and 19 assists in 30 games with the Lambton Jr. Sting U16 AAA team in 2019-20.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
