COVID death toll climbs to 76

Lambton Public Health is reporting another local death from COVID-19.

In its daily update Friday, the health unit reported the death toll had climbed to 76. An individual in their 80s died at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital.

Lambton Public Health reported 12 more infections up to 4,355, and five more resolved cases for a total of 4,234. The active case count increased by six to 45.

Bluewater Health had six COVID-positive patients in hospital, unchanged from Thursday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
