Sting rally for 4-3 win in Flint

Following a 6-3 home ice loss to the Firebirds Friday, the Sarnia Sting rebounded with a 4-3 victory in Flint Saturday.

The Firebirds held a 2-0 lead after the first period on goals from Zacharie Giroux and Tyler Deline.

Midway through the second period Ethan Ritchie (2) scored for Sarnia assisted by Ben Lalkin.

Less than two minutes later Sarnia's Ty Voit (7) would tie the game with assists from Ritchie and Nolan Burke.

The Sting would take the lead 54 seconds into the third period on a goal from Nolan Dann (11) with Voit and Burke picking up the assists.

At the two minute mark, Theo Hill (6) would make it 4-2 Sarnia assisted by Ryan Mast and Nolan DeGurse.

Brennan Othmann scored for the Firebirds near the midway mark of the final frame.

Benjamin Gaudreau stopped 27 of 30 shots for the Sting while Luke Cavallin stopped 32 shots for Flint.

With the win Sarnia's record improves to 8-7-3-0 while the Firebird's record drops to 9-7-0-1.

Sarnia plays host to the West division-leading Soo Greyhounds Sunday at 2:05 p.m. The pregame show starts at 1:30 p.m. on 103.9 FM - 1070 AM CHOK.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
