Sting deal O'Donnell to Spirit for draft pick

The Sarnia Sting have traded forward Justin O'Donnell to the Saginaw Spirit in exchange for a 7th round pick in the 2022 OHL Draft.

Through 63 games played over two seasons with the Sting, the 18-year-old has recorded two goals and 10 assists including seven points in 19 games this season.

Sting General Manager Dylan Seca commented on Tuesday's transaction.

"Justin has been a dedicated member of our organization," said Seca. "He’s a great kid, and teammate. We feel this provides him with more opportunity, and at the same time allows our younger players the same chance. It’s hard to say goodbye to good people. We wish him nothing but the best moving forward."

The Oakville, Ontario native was selected by the Sting in the second round of the 2019 OHL Draft.
