Bluewater Power CEO lands seat on provincial board

The Board of Directors for the Electricity Distributors Association of Ontario now has local representation.

Bluewater Power President and CEO Janice McMichael-Dennis has been elected by her peers to sit on the board.

McMichael-Dennis said the EDA is the voice for utilities across the province.

"They draw together this big range of utilities, and associations, and affiliated companies, and commercial enterprises," she said. "It's just such a great organization. They have an outstanding CEO and super talented staff, they have a very highly respected board and I'm just so honoured to get to have a seat starting in 2022."

McMichael-Dennis said the local utility will benefit from having a seat on the GTA based board.

"They do so much for our sector, which is serving -- across the province of course -- many, many, many customers. They do advocacy, and policy work, and analysis, and research, and they just do so much for the industry as a whole and to play a small part in it, is just really super exciting for me."

McMichael-Dennis said being on the board has interested her for a while.

"I've spent the last six years on the Lambton College Board of Governors, and the most recent years as Chair, and my term was up starting September 1 of this year. I'll be honest, it left a huge hole in my heart because I adore Lambton College and all the people there, so this was just the perfect opportunity, it was like it was meant to be."
