Petrolia Flyers hope to stock the shelves of local food bank

The Petrolia Flyers are hoping to stock the shelves of the food bank in the hard oil town.

The team has partnered with McDonald's to collect non-perishable food items.

Starting December 2, fans are encouraged to bring donations to each Thursday night home game until December 23rd.

Anyone donating between three and five canned goods will receive a ballot to win one of three gift certificates from the Petrolia fast food restaurant.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
