Operation Christmas Tree returns

Donations of cash, toys, canned goods, and non-perishable food items will be accepted during a drive-thru event this weekend.

The Optimist Club of Moore's Operation Christmas Tree is back for another year, with the goal of assisting 125 local families.

President Stan Marsh said there's a drive-thru collection event taking place on Saturday at the OPP's Corunna Detachment.

"I'm really surprised at how well our community supports what we're doing," said Marsh. "When I say the community I mean industries, churches, schools... you name it and they're in it."

Marsh said they also provide support to local fire victims.

Saturday's drive-thru event is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
