Local woman wins $74K in Imperial Theatre's November 50/50 draw

A Lambton county woman is $74,670 richer after winning the grand prize in the Imperial Theatre's November 50/50 draw.

The theatre is congratulating Jennifer Salaris on the big win. She's been purchasing tickets for the monthly draws since the summer.

Director Brian Austin said the jackpot prize increased 29 per cent over the previous month.

"The success of the fundraiser has allowed the theatre to finish capital projects that were planned prior to the pandemic," said Austin. "We are able to complete renovating the men's washroom in the main lobby, and upgrading all of the amenities in the upstairs washrooms. Other projects such as the fifth and final phase of the roof replacement will be completed soon."

The draws have also allowed the theatre to upgrade the auditorium including new seats, new paint, new floor, and state of the art PA speaker system.

Proceeds from the December draw, are expected to fund a theatrical lighting equipment upgrade, enhancements to the orchestra pit, and other physical upgrades to the building.

As of December 8, the theatre has given away over $1.8 million in prizes, including a massive $408,000 jackpot last February.
