OPP's K9 Team sniffs out suspect in Lambton Shores

Lambton OPP received help from a furry friend in order to arrest a suspect accused of assault with a weapon.

Provincial police were called to a residence on Pinery Bluffs Road in Lambton Shores early Wednesday morning, around 2:10 a.m., following an assault with an edged weapon.

One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

OPP said a suspect was last seen running away from the residence into a bush lot.

The OPP's Canine Unit was brought in to assist with the search. The accused was found and taken into police custody.

A 26-year-old from Lambton Shores was charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

OPP have withheld the identity of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victims.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
