Teddy Bear Toss collection climbs over 5,000

Hundreds of additional stuffed toys have been donated toward the Sarnia Sting's Teddy Bear Toss collection this week.

Lambton Ford President Rob Ravensberg reported Thursday afternoon that the new record total had surpassed 5,000 stuffed toys.

"5,061 stuffed toys will be delivered to 16 local organizations," he said.

That's an increase of over 450 since the 24th annual event was held at Progressive Auto Sales Arena Sunday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
