Alleged stunt driver tries to flee traffic stop

A 20-year-old Sarnia man is facing charges after allegedly trying to flee a traffic stop on Saturday morning in Petrolia.

At around 6:10 a.m., Lambton OPP spotted a vehicle travelling more than 50 km/h above the posted speed limit on Discovery Line.

When police tried to stop the vehicle, it was driven into a field and became stuck.

The driver is charged with dangerous operation, flight from police, racing a motor vehicle (stunt), and driving without a licence.

He was released pending a court appearance on January 24, 2022.
