Missing Sarnia man found deceased

Sarnia police have confirmed the death of a missing 61-year-old man last seen by his family over two months ago.

John Adams of Sarnia became the subject of a missing person report October 16, after his family hadn't heard from him for five days.

On Sunday, December 12, police were called to a forested area along the south west corner of Highway 402 and Highway 40 for reports that a deceased person had been located.

Officers began searching the area at around 1:40 p.m. and a body was located approximately 20 minutes later.  Members of the Criminal Investigations Branch attended to continue the investigation.

Police said a postmortem was conducted in London Monday, which identified the deceased as Adams -- foul play has been ruled out as a result of the examination.

Police said out of respect for the family no further information will be shared regarding this matter.
