Friday's Sting game postponed

Friday night's Sarnia Sting game has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 cases within the Flint Firebirds organization.

The Ontario Hockey League announced Friday that 11 members of the Firebirds had tested positive for COVID-19. All players and staff affected are currently asymptomatic or exhibiting mild symptoms and the league and team will continue to monitor their wellbeing.

Saturday's Sting game in Owen Sound is also postponed due to positive cases in the Attack organization.

Sting General Manager Dylan Seca said Friday that there are currently no COVID concerns with the team.

"We're in good shape," said Seca. "Obviously, we'll see if some things change but at this stage along the way our guys are reporting back home so they're in the care of their parents in the next number of hours and we wish them a happy holiday. We'll be ready to have them back and fired up to play the Knights."

The Sting's next scheduled game is December 29 at home to the London Knights.
