Active COVID-19 cases continue upward trend

The number of active COVID-19 cases and outbreaks in Sarnia-Lambton has increased over the past 24 hours.

Lambton Public Health reported 29 new infections on Saturday and 20 resolved cases.

The local active COVID-19 case count is now at 138.

The health unit also reported nine active outbreaks, which is an increase of two since Friday's update. It's unknown where the latest outbreaks were declared but additional details are expected to be released Monday morning.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been a total of 4,632 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the region and a total of 4,416 resolved cases.

The local death toll remains at 78.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
