Alleged impaired driver accused of assaulting officer

A 37-year-old woman from Plympton-Wyoming is facing charges of impaired driving and assaulting a police officer after a traffic stop Friday night.

Lambton OPP spotted a stationary vehicle on London Line at around 9 p.m. It's alleged the occupant was showing signs of impairment.

The driver allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted the officer while being taken into custody.

The accused was transported to the Lambton OPP detachment where they provided three breath samples above the legal limit.

She was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on January 31, 2022.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
