Green Christmas in store for Sarnia-Lambton

The prospect of a white Christmas in Sarnia-Lambton is very, very slim.

Environment Canada Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Steven Flisfeder said it may be more of a wet Christmas rather than a white one.

"A couple of systems are moving through the area this week, including one that's anticipated for the Friday into Saturday timeframe," said Flisfeder. "That one is going to be on the warmer side, so what that means is more likely rain than snow for the Sarnia area."

Sarnia's Friday forecast called for a high of 7 Celsius (45 Fahrenheit) and a high of 6 C (43 F) is expected on Saturday, Christmas Day.

The normal high for this time of year in the Sarnia area is 0 C (32 F).

Winter officially arrived on Tuesday, December 21 at 10:59 a.m.

Flisfeder said on average, temperatures will be above seasonal for Sarnia-Lambton.
