UPDATE: A mix of snow, rain and freezing rain possible Monday

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Sarnia-Lambton.

The weather service said snow and a wintry mix of precipitation will move through the region Monday.

Snow is forecast to arrive across southwestern Ontario early Monday morning, and continue for a few hours before possibly transitioning to ice pellets or freezing rain.

By Monday afternoon, the precipitation is forecast to come to an end or transition to light drizzle or freezing drizzle with temperatures hovering near 0 C, 32 F or just above.

Total snowfall accumulation of up to five centimetres is possible.

Areas farther inland from Lake Erie and Lake Huron may receive several hours of freezing drizzle, potentially leading to ice build up during the afternoon and evening.
