Three COVID deaths reported in SL

Sarnia-Lambton's health unit added three deaths to its COVID-19 figures Tuesday morning.

Lambton Public Health has now reported 83 virus-related deaths during the pandemic, including five in just over a week.

Public Relations Coordinator Kelly Francis told Sarnia News Today in an email that three COVID-positive patients passed away in hospital between December 23 and 27.  One person was in their 50s, and the others were in their 60s and 80s respectively.

Confirmed cases increased by 26 to 5,220 Tuesday, and resolved cases climbed by 29 to 4,640.  Active infections are now at 497.

Tuesday's case-total is a drop from the previous three days when nearly 300 cases were reported.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
