A Sarnia cab driver suffered minor injuries after allegedly being assaulted by a female passenger on Monday night.
City police said the cabbie drove the accused to several locations, and at one point, she became irate and began yelling.
When the taxi reached the area of Queen Street and Talfourd Street, the passenger allegedly began striking the driver as he was in the middle of the intersection.
The driver then cancelled the fare, and kicked the woman out of the cab.
She went to a nearby apartment where she was turned away, and tried to re-enter the cab but was denied. At that point, she allegedly began striking the victim a second time with closed fists through the window of the vehicle.
The suspect was located by police at around 11:45 p.m. walking away from the cab. A 36-year-old Sarnia woman was arrested and charged with assault.
She was remanded in custody following a bail hearing, and is set to appear in court on January 7.
