Crashes on Hwy 402 in slippery conditions

No injuries were reported in a pair of crashes Thursday morning on Highway 402.

The first happened near Glendon Drive in the Strathroy area at around 7 a.m.

Acting Sgt. Ed Sanchuck with West Region OPP said a transport and pickup truck collided and came to rest in the center median.

"Every emergency worker that arrived on scene was amazed that there were no injuries to be reported at this collision, that's the great news out of this," he said.

The scene was cleared at around 10 a.m.

Lambton OPP responded to a transport truck that rolled and entered the ditch just east of Nauvoo Road at around 8:30 a.m.

The highway was down to one lane until the vehicle was removed.

Motorists were reporting that there was some black ice on area roads Thursday morning.
