K9 leads OPP to break-in suspect

An OPP general service dog named Blitz has helped track down another suspect, this time it was in connection to a break and enter in Lambton Shores.

Lambton OPP said a break-in was reported on Northville Road Thursday morning, around 1:10 a.m.

A 27-year-old Lambton Shores man allegedly broke a window in order to get into the residence but took off after he was approached by the homeowner.

With help from Blitz, the suspect was found at a nearby outbuilding.

He was charged with two counts of break and enter and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Blitz was also recently credited with helping to locate a suspect on Walpole Island First Nation in connection to a theft investigation.
