Sting see change in schedule due to COVID-19 protocols

The Sarnia Sting will not return to the ice Friday night as scheduled.

The OHL has postponed Friday's game against the Spirit due to COVID-19 protocols affecting Saginaw.

The game was scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. at Progressive Auto Sales Arena (PASA) without fans in the stands.

However, the Sting will be in action on Saturday.

The Sting were initially scheduled to play at Saginaw on Saturday but the OHL announced the game's postponement Thursday afternoon.

On Friday, the OHL announced that instead of Sarnia playing the Flint Firebirds on January 19, the two will square off on January 8.

The previously rescheduled game on January 19 was to make up for a postponed game from December 17, 2021.

The Sting have had several postponed games over the past two months due to COVID-19 protocols. The last game Sarnia played was on December 12, 2021, against the Erie Otters.

You can hear Saturday's Sting game against Flint live on CHOK with Leigh Cunningham and Patrick DesRochers. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m.
