Marinaro and Moore-Towers take Canadian gold

Sarnia's Michael Marinaro and partner Kirsten Moore-Towers have won their third Canadian figure skating title.

The pair skated in Canada's 2022 National Skating Championships in Ottawa, placing first in both the short and free programs.

The two finished more than 26 points ahead of their closest competition.

The win strengthens the pair's chance to qualify for the Olympics.

The roster for the Beijing 2022 Olympics will be announced on Sunday.

Marinaro and Moore-Towers have been skating together since 2014.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
