The organization, which supports partners in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and other developing countries, has shared on its website that Margaret Barnfield, died Saturday, January 8, 2022.

She was 76-years-old.

"Without Maggy, Rayjon would not be what it is today," the organization said in a statement. "She built friendships and partnerships in Haiti that continue to this day. She will be forever loved and greatly missed."

Barnfield's obituary said she moved to Sarnia from England in 1980, and quickly became a member of Sacred Heart Church.

She and her husband John visited Haiti in 1985 on an Ontario-wide Poverty Awareness Trip, which led to the formation of Rayjon in 1986.
