Unruly hotel guest faces assault charges

A 59-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly becoming combative while being kicked out of a Grand Bend hotel.

Lambton OPP were called at around 5:30 a.m. January 9, as staff were trying to evict an aggressive guest.

It's alleged the man continued to be aggressive with officers, and members of the Huron County OPP, Middlesex County OPP and Anishinabek Police Service (APS-Kettle Point) were called in to assist.

The individual was taken into custody. Police said the suspect and a member of Lambton OPP were treated at a hospital for injuries.

The suspect, from Huron East, is charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, resisting a peace officer, assaulting a peace officer causing bodily harm, and failing to leave the premises when directed.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in court on February 28.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
