NHL scouts eyeing two Sting players

NHL scouts have their eyes on at least two players from the Sarnia Sting.

Forwards Max Namestnikov and Nolan Dann are included on NHL Central Scouting's Midterm Rankings for the 2022 NHL Draft.

Namestnikov, who was also included in Central Scouting’s “players to watch” list in October, is ranked 219th out of 227 North America skaters. The 17-year-old from Royal Oak, Michigan has four goals and 11 assists in 27 games with the Sting this season.

Dann, 18, is ranked 224th among North American skaters. The Cambridge-native has scored 15 goals and added 11 assists in 27 games this season with Sarnia.

A total of 62 OHL players are included on the list.

The 2022 NHL draft is scheduled for July 7-8 in Montreal, Quebec.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
