SL reports 19th COVID death of 2022

Sarnia-Lambton's health unit has now reported 19 COVID-related deaths in 2022.

Lambton Public Health tallied the most recent death Sunday morning, bringing the community total to 102.  Details about the latest fatality, including age and gender, were not immediately available.

Bluewater Health is reporting 52 COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one from Saturday.  Of those, seven patients are in the ICU, unchanged over the past 24 hours.

There were also 69 new cases reported Sunday, bringing the total to 8,379.  Resolved cases are up 59 to 7,670.

There are 607 active cases across Sarnia-Lambton and 17 active outbreaks.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
