Alleged impaired driver blows three times legal limit

Sarnia police say a 28-year-old woman was arrested after blowing over three times the legal limit early Sunday morning.

At around 1:20 a.m., an officer noticed a vehicle stopped in the eastbound curb lane on London Line.

It's alleged the vehicle took off quickly. The officer gave chase, and the accused pulled into a parking lot.

Police said the officer spotted a can of an of alcoholic beverage in the console beside the driver, who was then arrested.

Its alleged breath samples provided by the woman were well above the legal limit.

The woman, from Kirkton, Ontario, faces one count of impaired by alcohol and one count of blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

Her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle will be impounded for seven days.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
