Homeowner confronts break and enter suspect

A resident living in the 500 block of Michigan Avenue confronted a thief in his home Monday morning.

Sarnia police said the homeowner woke up at around 5 a.m. and found a man in his basement who had broken in.

Police said the homeowner and the suspect got into a tussle, and the resident was able to remove the suspect from his home.

Detectives and members of the Forensic Identification Unit were on scene for around three hours to retrieve evidence, but police were unable to locate any suspects at the time.

Police believe the thief sustained some injuries around the area of the eyes.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
