Sarnia man charged following St. Clair Twp. B&E

A Sarnia man accused of breaking into an electrical compound in St. Clair Township is facing over half-a-dozen charges.

Lambton OPP were contacted about an alleged active break-in on Hill Street at around 1:40 p.m. Friday.

Police attended the area and saw the suspect flee the property. When officers located the suspect a short time later, the man took police on a foot pursuit before he was taken into custody.

Police said through an investigation, the 51-year-old suspect was also linked to other property-related occurrences at the same location.

The accused is charged with break and enter, possession of break in instruments, two counts of theft under $5,000, and three counts of mischief - destroys or damages property.

The suspect has been released from custody and will appear in court in March.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
