Sting disappointed by postponed game

The stands at Progressive Auto Sales Arena (PASA) will sit empty a little while longer as Tuesday night's game between the Sarnia Sting and Saginaw Spirit has been postponed.

The Ontario Hockey League made the announcement Tuesday afternoon due to COVID-19 protocols affecting the Saginaw Spirit Hockey Club.

Tuesday would have been the first game in 2022 that fans would have been able to attend after the province moved into the first stage of its reopening plan on Monday.

"We apologize to the 500 fans scheduled to come tonight," read a tweet from the Sarnia Sting.

The game between the Sting and Spirit will be played at a later date.

Sarnia is scheduled to play Erie on Friday at PASA. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m.

Sting games can be heard on CHOK (1070AM/103.9FM).
