For the second day in a row, school buses across Lambton County were not running.
School buses in all zones, 1 through 8, were cancelled Thursday after the region received about 20 centimetres of snow.
There were several cancellations reported. A full list is posted here.
The City of Sarnia declared a significant weather event Wednesday due to substantial snow accumulation and ice formation on roadways and sidewalks.
Sarnia Public Works Manager Tony D'Agostini said priority will be given to main streets and bus routes.
City streets Thursday morning were described as snow packed with slippery sections and some drifting.
D'Agostini said motorists are asked not to park on city streets until the snow is cleared. We are also reminded to avoid clearing snow onto roads or sidewalks.
A winter weather travel advisory was in effect for Sarnia-Lambton but it ended shortly before 10:50 a.m.
Environment Canada said snow is forecast to redevelop near noon.
Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Peter Kimbell said we could see another 2 to 4 centimetres this afternoon, with total amounts near 8 centimetres by Thursday night.
"Not a lot of snow but it's going to be blowing around and it's still blowing around the snow that fell yesterday, so it's still an issue for motorists of course," said Kimbell.
Motorists are urged to take their time and be careful on area roadways.
