Imperial Theatre's latest 50/50 winner cashes in over $74K

The first winner of 2022 in Imperial Theatre's 50/50 draw won $74,570.

Recent retiree Linda Jackson won the January 50/50 jackpot.

The theatre said Jackson was in such disbelief about winning that it didn't sink in until she picked up her cheque.

The 50/50 fundraiser has allowed the theatre to complete capital projects that were planned prior to the pandemic.

Construction of a dedicated youth program space began in February. Other planned upgrades include an electrical upgrade focused on theatrical lighting, and replacing the main doors.

As of January 31, over $2 million in prizes have been given away through the fundraiser, read a media release from the theatre. February's jackpot is currently over $5,000.

Tickets for this month's 50/50 draw can be purchased online until February 27 at 11:59 p.m.

Tickets are 3 for $10, 40 for $20, and 200 for $40. The winning number will be drawn and announced over Facebook Live on February 28 at 10:00 a.m.
