COVID-19 hospitalizations edge down in Sarnia-Lambton

The number of COVID-positive patients reported at Bluewater Health has gone down to 24.

As reported on Friday, the hospital was previously caring for 26 COVID-positive patients. As of Saturday morning, three patients with COVID-19 remain in intensive care.

Lambton Public Health reported 33 new lab-confirmed cases on Saturday as well as 83 resolved cases. The number of known active COVID-19 cases has decreased to 241.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been a total of 9,064 confirmed cases of the virus in Lambton County and 8,712 resolved cases.

The local death toll remains a 111. The number of COVID-19 outbreaks also remains at five.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
