Gaudreau muzzles Greyhounds in Sting win

Sting goaltender Ben Gaudreau made 45 saves in Sarnia's 3-0 win in Sault Ste. Marie Friday night.

Nolan Dann scored twice, Ethan Ritchie added a goal and Ty Voit had two assists in another road win for the Sting.  The club is 5-11-2-1 in Sarnia this season and 11-6-1-0 on the road.

Dann opened the scoring at 4:02 of the first period, his 18th of the season.  Sarnia led 1-0 after 20 minutes and trailed 14-8 in shots on goal.

Ethan Ritchie made it 2-0 at 3:59 of the second -- the Oakville native has four goals and four assists in 23 games with Sarnia since coming over from Kingston.  The Sting led 2-0 heading into the third period despite being outshot by the Greyhounds 31-17.

Dann scored his second goal at 4:15 of the third and Gaudreau made another 14 saves in the final frame to preserve the shutout and the win for Sarnia.

The two teams faceoff again Saturday night at 7:07 p.m. on CHOK (1070AM/103.9FM).

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
