COVID hospitalizations down in SL

Lambton Public Health reported 32 new lab confirmed cases of COVID-19 Monday.

In its daily update, the health unit reported that since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 9,477 confirmed cases of the virus reported in Sarnia-Lambton.

The number of resolved cases went up by 21 to 9,141, increasing the number of known active infections by 11 to 216.

The death toll stands at 120, and there are five outbreaks, unchanged from Sunday.

There are 10 COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health, down from 13 on Sunday. There is one positive patient in the ICU. Less than one month ago, the hospital was treating 59 COVID-positive patients, including 10 in the ICU.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
