Latest death linked to COVID-19 locally was a youth

There has been another local death linked to COVID-19.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 121 deaths reported by Lambton Public Health.

The latest death was a youth in the zero to 19 age group, who passed away at a London hospital.

Whether or not the individual had any underlying medical condition wasn't shared.

In its daily update, the health unit reported 15 new lab confirmed cases of the virus and 82 resolved cases, lowering the number of known active infections by 68 to 148.

There are four active outbreaks, down one from Monday.

To date, there have been 9,494 cases of COVID-19 recorded in Sarnia-Lambton, of which 9,223 have been deemed resolved.

Bluewater Health has nine COVID-positive patients in hospital, down from 10 Monday. One patient is in intensive care.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
