Driver ends up in river, escapes serious injury

A 24-year-old driver from Corunna was treated for minor injuries after entering the St. Clair River Tuesday evening.

First responders were called to an area of St. Clair Parkway at around 6:30 p.m. after a vehicle left the road and ended up in the river.

Lambton OPP said the lone occupant was able to exit the vehicle and was assessed by the county's emergency medical services. No charges have been laid at this time.

Police are reminding motorists to be mindful of changing weather conditions and to adjust driving accordingly.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
