COVID death reported in SL

Lambton Public Health has reported another COVID-19 death.

In its online update Friday, the health unit reported the 127th death in Sarnia-Lambton since the start of the pandemic. Lambton Public Health said the latest death was a long-term care resident in their 90s.

The health unit reported 43 new lab confirmed cases of the virus since Wednesday's report.

Since March 2020, there have been 9,723 confirmed infections recorded locally.

There are 15 COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health, up from 12 on Thursday. The Sarnia hospital said one of the patients is in intensive care.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
