Rebound welcomes new county coordinator

Sarnia-Lambton Rebound has hired Renee Deschenes of Brights Grove as its new county program coordinator.

Deschenes initially started working with Rebound as a co-op student in September 2020.

She was then hired on a temporary basis in 2021 to fill a maternity leave position as a housing coordinator. Deschenes later worked with a subsidiary of Rebound, as a school suspension program coordinator at Ursuline College in Chatham.

The organization announced Deschenes' appointment as county program coordinator on Wednesday.

She graduated from Humber College's addictions and mental health program, as well as from Brock University's child and youth studies program.

"Lambton County is diverse in its needs for youth, as there is a unique experience for young people living in the County," Deschenes said in a statement. "I am looking forward to continuing to work with schools, youth, and other agencies in the County to support our young people."

Sarnia-Lambton Rebound is an organization that supports children and youth through various services. Although programming has changed because of COVID-19, support is still being offered in different capacities.
