LPH reports 50th COVID death of 2022

Lambton Public Health has reported another COVID-19 death.

In its update Wednesday, the health unit reported the death-toll has risen to 133. The latest fatality was an individual in their 80s -- it was the 50th COVID-related death reported locally in 2022.

The health unit reported 32 new lab confirmed cases since Monday's report, for a total of 10,184 since March 2020.

There is one active outbreak in the community. At Vision Nursing Home, 11 residents and five staff members and visitors have tested positive of the virus since March 7.

Bluewater Health is reporting less than five COVID-positive patients at the Sarnia hospital.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
