Sentencing set for Sarnia man convicted of Lee Court murder

A Sarnia man will be sentenced this spring in the death of a 39-year-old mother of two.

Joseph DiCarlo, 46, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of second degree murder Wednesday in the death Natalie Bartlett in January of 2021.

At about 12:30 a.m. January 14, police, fire and EMS responded to a call about a woman suffering serious injuries at a home on Lee Court, off Murphy Road north of Michigan Avenue. The woman, known to DiCarlo, was transported to hospital where she was pronounced dead. A suspect was arrested at the scene.

DiCarlo, originally charged with first degree murder, was denied bail last March.

His sentencing date is set for May 26th.
